BHAGAT KABIR JI (1440 - 1518)
Bhagat Kabir Ji were born in 1440 in Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. Bhagat Kabir Ji were a Muslim (as indicated in the bani of Bhagat Ravidas). Bhagat Kabir Ji were a weaver by profession (as indicated in bani of Guru Amardas Ji). Bhagat Kabir Ji's bani is incorporated in Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
Apart from the influence in Sikhism, followers of Bhagat Kabir have a seperate religion and are called Kabir Panthiye (followers of Kabir). Bhagat Kabir Ji instead of becoming a Sadhu and leaving home in search of God, lived a married life and continued their profession and still found God. Bhagat Kabir Ji's life and bani teaches us the same. Bhagat Kabir Ji were a true saint and a great philosopher. Bhagat Kabir Ji died in 1518 in Maghar, Uttar Pradesh.
