The Ten Sikh Gurus

GURU NANAK DEV JI, THE FIRST GURU TOLD THAT BANI IS GURU NOT HIM. SO THE REAL GURU IS BANI AND WE HAVE IT IN THE FORM OF GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI.

SHRI GURU GRANTH SAHIB JI

The details of the 10 Guru Nanaks are :-

1. GURU NANAK DEV JI  -  founder of Sikh religion. Removed superstitions, made equal rights for women, and shown the path of Kirat Karna, Naam Japna and Vand Shakna.

2. GURU ANGAD DEV JI  -  popularized Gurmukhi, also popularized and expanded Guru Ka Langar(Free Kitchen For All).

3. GURU AMARDAS JI - used the spirituality to fight agianst caste system and evils of untouchability, shown the path of Sewa and Simran.

4. GURU RAMDAS JI  -  author of Lavan for Anand Karaj, creator of Township Amritsar and designed Gurudwara Darbar Sahib.

5. GURU ARJUN DEV JI  -  written the Adi Granth, became first martyr in Sikhs, tortured for several days till death.

6. GURU HAR GOBIND JI  -  built Akal Takht, the Throne of Almighty, wore two swords of the Miri and the Piri, fought 5 battles with Mughals and won all of them.

7. GURU HAR RAI JI  -  continued tradition of Sikhs as warriors, built free Ayurvedic medicine centres for helping the Humanity.

8. GURU HAR KRISHAN JI  -  became Guru at the age of 5, cured numerous sick people of Delhi from the chickenpox epidemic.

9. GURU TEG BAHADUR JI  -  built city of Anandpur Sahib, saved Kashmiri Pandits from Mughals, martyred by Aurangzeb in Chandni Cowk, Delhi.

10. GURU GOBIND SINGH JI  -  founded Khalsa and assigned five K's, sacrificed whole family for the religion and nation, declared Guru Granth Sahib Ji as the next and forever Guru.
