  • Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji wore two Kirpans of Miri and Piri. Miri is the symbol of Rule and Piri is the symbol of Faith. At that time, Faith needed protection and hence Guru Hargobind Ji wore two Kirpans and participated in battles to defend the faith.
  • Nishan Sahib is a symbol that helps people to know that their is a Gurudwara nearby where they will get food to eat and place to rest and sleep.
  • Nishan Sahib is also a symbol of victory. Nishan Sahib is hoisted at the place which is conquered by the Sikhs.
  • There is a Khanda on the top of Nishan Sahib.
  • The height of Nishan Sahib helps visitors find Gurudwara easily so they can have food from the free kitchen and place to stay. Also, the height of Nishan Sahib teaches the Sikhs to stay in Chardikala all times, i.e. in High spirits.
